Objectives

Testing Process – The course aims to provide a deep understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Test Analyst within the software testing lifecycle. Participants will learn how to align test activities with different software development models, such as Agile, Waterfall, and V-Model, ensuring that testing is effectively integrated into the development process. Additionally, the training covers the application of risk-based testing strategies to prioritize test efforts and maximize efficiency.

Test Design Techniques – A key focus of the course is mastering advanced test design techniques to improve test coverage and effectiveness. Participants will gain expertise in various black-box testing methods, including equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision table testing, and state transition testing, as well as experience-based techniques like exploratory testing and error guessing. By applying these techniques, testers can create structured, high-quality test cases that align with business and technical requirements.

Testing Software Quality Characteristics – Understanding and evaluating different software quality attributes is essential for a Test Analyst. This course explores functional testing to ensure that software behaves as expected, usability testing to assess user-friendliness, accessibility testing to verify compliance with accessibility standards, and user experience (UX) testing to enhance overall system interaction. By focusing on these characteristics, participants will be equipped to identify and address potential usability and functional issues early in the development process.

Reviews – The importance of formal and informal review techniques in improving software quality is emphasized throughout the training. Participants will learn how to conduct and participate in different types of reviews, such as walkthroughs, inspections, and peer reviews, to detect defects at an early stage. Additionally, the course covers static analysis techniques, helping testers identify issues in documentation and code without executing the software.

Test Tools & Automation – To enhance testing efficiency, the course introduces various test management and automation tools. Participants will gain an understanding of how these tools support test execution, defect tracking, and test design while also learning about the benefits and limitations of test automation. By integrating these tools into their workflow, testers can improve productivity and optimize test coverage.
