Selenium with Java for Testers

March 21 @ 9:00 am 5:00 pm

This course is only accessible for everyone who has proven knowledge of Selenium and preferably has followed our A4Q Selenium Tester Foundation course or you have the A4Q Selenium Tester Foundation Certificate.

In the Agile development cycle, you as tester are an integral part of the development team. Being able to automate your end-to-end tests in the same programming language that (part of) the development team uses enables you to tap into the teams knowledge and experience.

Given Java is still a widely used language in large projects, having it in your automation toolbox is a large boon.

After looking into how Java handles automating tests using JUnit, we will utilize these features to power our Selenium automation.

Using the Page Object Model approach, you will start implementing the Selenium and JUnit functionality into practical test cases.

During the course we are not only focusing purely on technical implementation but also on common techniques and best practices on how to set-up Selenium tests in Java. Various exercises based on real-life examples will help you better understand the concepts and bring them into practice.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand how automated tests function in Java
  • Be able to tailor JUnit to your needs.
  • create test scripts using Java and JUnit.
  • have practical experience setting up a framework based on Selenium.

Targeted audience

  • Testers with a basic knowledge of programming in Java.
  • Technical persons having a first experience and and wanting to start end to end testing using Selenium.

Preferably you have followed our A4Q Selenium Tester Foundation course or you have the A4Q Selenium Tester Foundation Certificate.

  • Functional Java knowledge.
  • Basic Selenium knowledge
  • basic test terminology.
  • basic software lifecycle.
